I design experiences, spaces, and systems.

Previously at PlayStation and Ubisoft. Now exploring new paths through games, design, and the odd cup of coffee.

About

Hello!

I'm Herman, a designer based in Singapore. I've spent the past eight years in game development, leading level design on AAA titles at PlayStation and Ubisoft, and working with teams across the world on experiences that feel good to play.

Recently, I gave a talk at the Dubai GameExpo Summit on the intersection of level design and narrative, how fields like architecture and urban planning influence how I build game worlds, and my experience in creative leadership. You can watch it here.

These days, I work independently, balancing design consulting with a few ventures of my own — including Meru, a project exploring Ready-To-Drink coffee, and another in the education space that's still taking shape.

I like building things that are thoughtful, systems-driven, and a little unexpected. Outside work, you'll usually find me drinking coffee or making something. Often both.
